- The bottom edge scrapes or catches at the threshold
- The top or latch side rubs the frame
- Customers need unusual force to open or close the door
- The lock or latch misses even though the hardware still operates
Possible causes
- Wear or movement at a top pivot, bottom pivot, or hinge
- A heavy door that has shifted out of square
- Threshold, sweep, or weatherstrip contact reducing clearance
- Frame, strike, or lock alignment that changed with daily use
