Why a commercial door has drafts or a gap at the bottom

Diagnose the opening
The symptom can involve more than one piece of hardware.
What you may notice
- Daylight, cold air, dust, or water is visible under the closed door
- The sweep is torn, missing, curled, or scraping the floor
- The door seals on one side but leaves a larger gap on the other
- A new sweep or threshold made the door harder to open
Possible causes
- A worn or incorrectly sized sweep
- An uneven, loose, or damaged threshold
- Door sag that creates inconsistent clearance
- Weatherstrip or perimeter seals that no longer meet the door
Before scheduling
What helps us understand the problem.
- Photograph the entire bottom edge from inside and outside
- Include a close photo of the threshold, sweep, and largest visible gap
- Note whether the door drags as well as leaks air or water
- Have the complete opening checked so a new seal does not hide an alignment problem
